And that is normal. I think that since we are talking about averages, there is a posibility to find someone who make you hapier than being single. And finding that person is dificult. Same as raising children. It takes effort and there is no guarantee of success.
So you are doing well by being honest with yourself. If you are happy being single, enjoy. If some day you meet someone who make you happy, enjoy. If after sometime that changes and you stop being happy with that person, give it a thought. Is it something that can be fixed? I mean, if the person you love has cancer, it is no ones fault and can't be fixed. If they mistreat you, it depends. Then you might need to break up and become single again. But you might have enjoyed some happy time with that person. There is no reason to beat yourself up if it didn't last longer.
You'll do well whatever you chose because you know that you can be happy on your own and that gives you and edge to make better choices.
