And when you disagree, you are acused of being unempathetic or not understanding. Funny thing, when you let them talk long enough and then repeat their arguments but twist them at the last step to apply to women, they get angry. Because what they are asking for is special treatment for men.

Sure, men have problems. But most of them are shared with women. The fact that they expect women to prioritize fixing those problem for them (and just them, not women) but aren't willing to do the work or confront the system that creates most of those problems in the first place is telling. For example: boys could do better at school. True. They can improve if they study more, but are told that sports and videogames are worth more than good grades (make them popular compared with being a nerd). So why men doesn't start talking better about scientist and humanist and people who do good in studies instead of celebrating only superbowl? After all, whatever women and girls say or celebrate, is going to be actively ignored by boys. Then again, the complain might not really be about how boys are doing at school, but about girls doing better.

And that is also the thing about empathy. When you put yourself in the shoes of someone else, you might end seeing the dishonesty in their words or the selfishness because it would become obvious that you would be expected to do better in the exact same situation and blamed if you don't fixit yourself. As per the example: girls with bad grades are usually grounded. Girls who mish¡behave in class, also grounded. The boys would be boys is a double edge and they haven't realized yet.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
