Are you seriusly trying to minimize the religious wars? I mean, in wars there are deaths, injured, people raped... To claim that it was "only" 2% of deaths doesn't change that there was wars because religion.

Also, not only population grows, but inventions like nuclear bombs are able to kill a lot more people with just one "hit". But what percentaje of deaths brought those wars compared to the population back in the day? And what other things brought? Were some cultures erased or suffered because of it? Because yes, cristianity imposed their religion on pagans. Those pagans didn't died, but weren't free either. I guess that you could call that "unifying", but that unifying wasn't good.

And I think that part of the "problem" or bad reactions that religion get today has a lot to do with that habit to preach and try to impose your beliefs on others.

I mean, many people would be prefectly happy with your or other cristian religions as long as they let them live without trying to pass laws to impose their beliefs. Or having unninvited visits of people that want to preach at their own homes. That is not respecful, yet it happens. also, it is OK if you think of others as inmorals, as long as you do that silently. The problem is that it is rarely silent. As a result, people become annoyed and you get the reactions that you are complaining.

If you want people to not react badly, you might want to tell other cristians to refrain from proselitizing and trying to convert people. I mean, we do know where the churches in our neighbouhoods are, if we are interested we can go there. If we are not going, why push it or bring it to us? And we are not creating laws that would force our morals into you. Although I admit that we do say when we think that your religion is doing something inmoral. In that we are even. XD

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
