Every single time. Do you see films? I mean, really. The plot usually shows the guy being there for the woman every time that counts. Sure they also add drama, but if the woman is in danger, he is there. If she has an accident, he would be there. If she has to move, he would carry the heavy load. In fact, what many seel is that a "bad boy" can turn into a "nice guy" "for the right girl. It's cliché. And it is fiction.
Maybe the ones deceived are the men who see films where the "hero" always "gets the girls" in the end. The average guy with average skills that is "the chosen" and ends saving the world and getting the super hot girl "way over his leage". The message is "if you do the right thing, a girl would be your reward". And when in real life, girls are instead people who decide what they really want (now it seems K-pop idols) instead of being the reward, they get frustrated.
