Exactly. Many metal bands are nerd inspired in their lyrics and aesthetic (which is one of the things I love about them). So I can't really understand why metal fans won't welcome nerds as kindred or something.

Where I live we used to go larping and after that, we went to the metal bars still in costume. And the people were friendly and just a couple of times they would ask why were we in costumes. I guess those metal fans had paid more attention to the lyrics and the inspiration. Or maybe they were also nerds. But I felt more included than I felt when I went to more mainstream places.

But with my limited knowledge I would say that while previous blind guardian albums weren't as explicit, the lyrics were also quite nerdy. I mean, it was pure D&D right there. XD

And yes, many alternative women do great job ad have a lot of creativity. They are in the beggining only to be told that it is a "masculine" thing once it becomes popular. Like fanfiction, it is considered "trash" until men start doing it. Go figure. Anyway, there are plenty of metal nerds that would welcome and if someone gives you crap, screw them. They don't have a right to tell shit.
