Except women worked at farms and factories. Even children worked there. I don't know why people insist on ignoring that women did in fact worked in factories (and where paid less) or in farms (also where paid less). And after their work there, they were also expected to do the domestic chores. And crafts like sewing and potery for things that the family needed. There are historical text describing this.
