Good take.
The thing is that for some men it is a common "pick up" tactic to try to get the other person drunk. That is, they try to pick you up, if you are not interested, they insist on buying you a drink (alcoholic and of their choice, of course, not yours) and keep giving you drinks in the hopes that you become kdrunk and more "recpetive". But for some of them, that also means being able to claim that you wanted it even if you never said yes. They would say that you didn't say "no" and that they thought you wanted it. Even if you might have said "no" several times before being completelly drunk.
Those men know that you never wated sex with them, but they want you drunk so they can claim plausible deniability and that "they thought you wanted". Those are the ones complaining, the ones who rape and know they are raping but also know that plausible deniability would get them a free pass.
You can see that actitude in the people who say "drunk women are easy" or the ones that when you say "no" insist that you have a drink (hint: when they insist so much, ask for a non-alcoholic drink and look at how they react. Normal people won't mind, the abuser would get angry, because it goes against their manipulative plan).
