I know what is the pink tax. But with most products, there is a unisex or male option that you can use anyway. There is no real need to use the feminine/pink version.

The people try to scam you because you are a woman I consider that is another variant of sexism.

There are services where men are scammed too. For example, when trying to buy perfume for a girlfriend. And there are products that target male insecurity and send "manly" cleaning products more expensive than the unisex ones.

But the solution is basically to go for the other version and make the "pink" product fail. As the pink Nintendo DS failed because girls were buying the regular ones. Now there are collection consoles, but not a pink "female" version.

The part about selling services that are unneeded could be addressed similarly. Go for the mechanic that is not sexist and avoid the ones trying to scam you.

Information is useful to deal with these things. But sometimes it works better to just walk away and make them lose a sale than trying to make them see how wrong they are.
