I think that there is another reason: some people doesn't like the traditional social contract. They want a different contract. Those people aren't "bad actors", they just don't think that contract is worth it for them. They don't lie or cheat, they just don't want to play any part in it.

For many women, the traditional marriage contract where they are expected to be submisive wives is not worth it. And that is OK. Maybe it is time ti redefine the social contract to allow for more options.
