I think that they need reminders of historical facts. I mean, they probably know those facts and have studied them. But then, they repeat the same lies until they believe them and don't see the contradiction with the historical facts. And they expect that we take the lies as facts and forgot the historical data that negates their version.

But first lesson in logical thinking is that if your premises are false, your conclusion would be too. And no amount of pseudo-academic chatter would change the fact that women did worked the fields and at factories or that women didn't have rights. Or that it was fathers who decided who would marry their daughters. So marriages didn't show women's preferences, but the father's. Some day they would get it.
