I understand why you say that you guess I've lost interest and not read the whole post. It is hard to read about men allowed to rape and police trying to punish the one person who is trying to help. And you are right that we do not understand. Most of the time we don't know how to help or even can't help ourselves (or improve our own situation).

I would google about Devdasi tradition. But you are right that change should be lead from within, otherwise we might make things worse. I hope those girls can use education to have a better future.
