I'm european. Does that count as western?

The fact is that while you might think it doesn't start at those ages, the research show that yes, it does start at those ages. And it comes as a shock, because when it happens for the first time, you don't expect it at all.

Are the men who do that pahedophiles? Yes. And they exist and they do it when other men or adult women aren't around. It could be at the beach, at the street, a park or any other publlic place. And it is probably based on the men who like "Lolitas" and take it to the extreme. Closing your eyes to it doesn't make it disappear. On the contrary, if we look the other way around it would keep happening.

We started sharing our experiences. Then we realized that what happened to us might be more common than we thought, not an exception. Then we did research, ask other women and make surveis. Well, the data that she linked was the result. It is probably focused on USA, but I can tell you that in Europe is not that different. You can look the rearch done in Canada to see if it applies there.

I get it, we would like to think that we live in civilized countries and that those things doesn't happen around you. But it would be more accurate to say that most people see it as wrong, but that it still happens. So when a girl tells that a man has catcalled her or graved her ass, she is usually told that she must "have been exagerating" or that "she has too much imagination" or that it "must have been a joke" or any other possible "explanation" that allow us to claim that it didn't happen. But from time to time, one of those phaedophiles is exposed and then everyone aroung the phaedophile is surprised because it was "such a nice fellow". And remember, just one phaedophile can harass several girls. It is not an statement on "most men", but on what we experience. To put an example, an old gym teacher low-key harassed several girls in my class. One old men near retirement age, about 10-15 girls per class and he taught about 9-10 classes. Do the numbers.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
