I'm going to point out something, you equal "not like other girls" as "not lame and not stupid", the counterpart is that "the other girls are lame and stupid". And let's face it, at the end of the day, we are still girls/women, we share plenty of things with them and won't be considered "one of the boys" for everything. We would still be discriminated against. The "not-like-other-girls" is a trap, a way to manipulate you, so you remain isolated from other girls and be in need of men's approval.

You can call yourself whatever you want, say that you are not like the other girls. But one day somethign would happen that reminds you that your guy friends still see you as "other", not one of them.

Your interest are perfect, you don't need to change them. But maybe, try to have some female friends of the girly type. You'll se they aren't lame or stupid, just different.

What those women refuse to accept is to be considered lame or stupid. And that their interest aren't lame and stupid. They are as valid as yours/mine.

If instead saying "I'm not like the other girls", you say "I'm a girl too" or "Girls like computers/comics/nerdy/sporty/whatever too", then you are already helping those girls. Because it changes perspective. You are no longer an exception, you are just another perfectly valid way to be a girl/woman.

And by remind your male friends that you are a girl too, they would probably tone down on the female bashing they indulge because "you are one of the boys". XD

Don't isolate yourself. We really aren't exceptions or unicorns. In fact we are quite common now. And that is great.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
