I'm, like many people, an imperfect feminist. You can make mistakes or not be the perfect feminist (which is different depending on which version of feminism you subscribe to) and still count. I don't think it is all or nothing.

We are all learning how to improve, how to achieve equal opportunities for everyone, and find some sort of equality. But if someone fails to do it all the time, I won't blame them since it is also human.

And sure, there are also people who aren't feminist but claim to be when it suits them. But even the hypocrites help in some way. After all, it is better to have them pretend to respect women than them normalizing insulting women and treating them as less than. The message for others is "I know that sexism is wrong and that is why I pretend to not be sexist".

Think about it, if someone on FOX news were to proudly declare that they are racist, homophobic, and sexist and that there is nothing wrong, or even that it is cool to be that way, there would be some people to follow and double down. It is kind of what is happening after Trump. And that is worse than them being hypocrites.

Change is slow but if we keep trying, we¡ll get there.
