I'm not suggesting that Christians should not respect christianity. I'm stating that Christians went to crusades (war) in the name of their religion. And also stated that they created the inquisition and tortured people in the name of their religion. Did those christians disrespect their own religion? Sure, they took Christ's name in vain. But I haven't invented that.

It is up to Christians if they are ok with their past or to make amends. But if you want to condemn or deny respect to other religions based on religious wars, it would be hypocritical not to condemn christianity too. I mean, it is in all history books. Also, disrespecting others might actually lead to Christians disrespecting their own religion.

I recall something about why we shouldn't cast the first stone in the bible, but then again, the contradictions are one of the things many people walk away from the church. You wanted to shame other beliefs to make yours look better and "the right one" and justify not respecting others. Well, that would go against the bible and implicitly, a disrespect to your own religion.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
