I'm OK with this. Many people don't mean literally anyway, but they adjust percentages according earnings. But the concept of sharing expenses is good, because it also imply sharing the status and chores.

What I find a problem is when this expenses sharing is not accompanied by sharing domestic chores. Or when our job is seen as "secondary".

In many ways, I find that paying our own bills free you, because then you know that you can make it on your own.
