It’s like the old joke, death or scare. when CK asked if he was allowed to mastubate in a context where he was powerful and the other person not, it is implied that if you say no, your career would be ruined. So the full question he asked was “do you mind if I masturbate or should I ruin your career?” He didn’t need to spell out the threath in the same way no one needs to explain what droping the soap in the sower means.

Even if he didn’t intended to ruin the women’s career, the implication was still there and he knew it. Not making the threath explicit doesn’t remove it in the same way that no one needs to explain that insulting your boss is a bad idea and that you could be fired for that. Everyone knows.

So not so inocent and pretending otherwise is lying, being stupid or both.

Women complain because they are tired to pretending there wasn’t bad faith. Is not that difficult to understand.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
