Many men don't want "traditional wives" that stay at home. Those men want a woman with a job and prospects for the future. And let me be clear, on dating apps, many men ask about this kind of things in the first date (it is logical and OK). In fact, many men want someone with a similar background. That is, many profesional men date profesional women with similar views about what they want in life.

And there is even a specific dating app for rich people who want to date on "their level". Because apparently, rich men want rich women that doesn't want after them for their money. Go figure.

On the other hand, the men who want a traditional woman who stays at home, want that they do know how to do the job of being a stay at home wife. That is, women are expected to know how to cook, clean, do all domestic task, take care of their image, that means make up, clothes, nice haircut... And obviusly that also include that they have a specific set of "prospects for future" as in wanting to marry and having children.

The idea that men don't have a list of expectations on potential girlfriends or wives is naive.

Even for a one night stand they have their set of requirements that usually are mostly physical, but are there.

It is not new, people always have expectations on potential partners.
