Many women are exhausted and irritated too. But they know that if they don't do it and remain calm, no one would.

Many men do their part, including waking up at night. That is why I used the word parents intead of mothers. The part about waking up every two hours goes for both parents.

Recovery for birth is the one who is specific for women. But the part about "instinc" I think it is not as accurate, since many women have post partum depression, which is basically a risk for both her and her new born. Hormones and instinc aren't as reliable as people think.

At the end of the day, people are individuals and it is up to them to deal with the frustration of waking up and taking care of a baby. But men can connect with babies (and many do that) if they do the work. It is about being there and caring for them. That is why adopted babies connect with the adoptive parents, regardles of their sex.
