A partner should add value to your life. As in making you happy, being there when you need it and basically making your life better than if he wasn't there. That is not related to money.

Of course life with money is usually easier for everyone, but money itself is just a circunstance. One day you have it, other you don't. The guy who pays the expensive dinners might be terrible managing his finances and end broke. Or selfish and treat you badly, as a trophy. And the guy who has no money might be hardworking and turn his situation around with just a little help on your part. What is important is to be on the same page about how you see money to avoid pointless discussions. Nothing worse that someone that tries to tell you what to do with your money. Or what to do, for that matter. XD
