No. It is about having power on your own, that doesn't depend on others. In this case, that your power doesn't depend on men.

It also have practical reasons. As stated, as you grow old, power based on men's desire disappear. And even when you are young, life happens. Your husband can have cancer or be in an accident and die. Then what? You might inherit, but you can also be left alone with children and not enough resources to raise them. Having more opportunities and resources like education would help you in case things turn out wrong. A back up plan and more options for the women who doesn't want to "marry up" and rather marry for love (or that are lesbians) is always good.
