Or maybe because the standard of beauty we apply is not the same men and magazines do. I mean, sometimes I look to my friends, see them happy and think, she looks great today. And I say it, because people already say enough crap and we need to hear the good too.
I agree that you don’t need to be beautiful or fit. I disagree that they got to dictate what is beautiful, even at skin level. And I think people tend for whatever reason to “see” more beautiful the people they like as person. It is subjective, for sure, but is also true.
