Plenty and sometimes people assign me contradictory labels. It was particularly funny in internet if you use a neutral nick-name. People make asumption about who you are based on what you write and similar things. So the same nick name can be a "gay man" or a sexy bimbo depending on what others project on you.
The people who is bothered by one new label is the people that tries to make every men fit into two. After all, the moment you go from Alpha and beta to Alpha, beta, sigma, you open the posibility of epsilon, teta, ganma... And then labels lose part of the power they have to force everyone to fit into them. The more options, the more you force people to make an effort to "fit" you or even know you with your particularities.
Some people don't like nuance. And some people who have lived trying to fit into a label and make sacrifices to do it, might be salty that others might have just decided to just scratch it althogether. In their minds, you are "cheating."
But the backlash you recive is no different than the backlash feminist or progressive people recive. You speak against the system and they push back. Don't mind them and do your thing. After all, the most powerful argument against "you can't do that!" is "I've already done it". XD
