So you are telling me that your friends (of any gender) have never helped you with moving or house stuff? Ever?

Sure, some men pretend to be friends so they can get closer. But not all men who become your friends have underlying reasons. And not all men who offer to help you want to date. Of course, there should be reciprocity.

The real question: does your friend do nice things for all her friends? Regardless of gender? Then her thinking makes sense. After all, she might be thinking that it is normal to help each other among friends. The problem is if she expects more help from her male friends than from female friends and if she is not doing things in return to thank them for the help.

Maybe is a cultural thing, but I think that friendships between men and women aren't that rare.
