Sure, sure, we all owe our attention to religious people so they could keep trying to convert us. And if it turns out that we have already read the bible or the coran and forced to study some variant of cristianity at school, then well, we don't share your beliefs because "we haven't get it", we only need to listen to a "new argument". Umm...
This argument that you just made? I've already heard that. If only I listen to this argument "this time".
And whatever you have to say is not going to change my mind in the same way that you are not going to stop believing regardless the arguments for that. And I'm OK with you believing, just not interested in more attempts to push them into others.
That is in a nutshell "cancel culture", why waste your time listening to something you don't care about? You probably only read books you are interested in, and only see TV shows and films you are interested in. This is no different.
For the record, I don't really mind if an author speak about his beliefs. But the reactions you get is because some christians use any excuse to try to "sell" their religion. As a result, people feel that they are trying to "shove" their beliefs on them and that is when they complain/react.
There is even an example in the rude people that criticized your reading. You get enough of those and you might react badly even to the mild exposures to anything religious.
