Switzerland is really nice, yes. And for IT it pays decent, although the rent price is high. Pay is relative to how much things cost. So many people work a couple of years there and then move. Or live in germany and just commute to switzerland.

While many people complement public healthcare with private insurance when there is no public healthcare, cancer or serious complication might cause you financial trouble. Yes in switzerland too. After all, if you don't have enough cash, even if you have investments, you might be forced to sell things under their real value to get the cash.

So at the end of the day, many people don't want to live in switzerland even if they are offered good wages. After all, there are many things that affect your quality of life. In case you wonder, I have rejected a couple of offers there precisely because after doing numbers and taking away extra expenses that I would have there, it wasn't as profitable as it looked in the first place. People tend to forget that.

But other European countries do have public healthcare and are nice and yes, I do live in Europe.

Anyway, the way things are progressing in USA, working there, even for a temporary contract well paid is not so appealing. After all, not only your (private) health insurance might not cover basic things like the pill, but their far right has access to guns. I won't feel safe there as I won't feel safe at a place where doctors would refuse needed treatments just because they are threatened by right wing laws.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
