The demand for "perfect" gym.sculpted physique is common in some places. Some people would demand that, other people don't. What I noticed is what my friend said. People who goes to the gym to get that body, expects the same.

The solution for that men who are bothered by that demand is to look at women with different expectations (and probably different bodies). In a way it is similar than people who only date on their social circle or economic level. People tend to date people who a similar to them even if it is unnintentional.

But I think there is some truth in the part about looking for gym bodies. I mean, for people who looks "casual" or "one night stand", physique is more important and women have an easier way getting one stands. So they might raise demands on that area for casual things while looking at different things for something serious.

My guess is that how you present yourself and the qualities you chose to highlight influence the kind of attention you get. I mean, if a man decides to use a picture in his underwear for tinder, sends message "I want casual sex and what I offer is my body". He could chose to go against the tide and show a picture visiting a museum or doing something he likes. The women who want casual might pass on him, but the women who share his interest might look at him more favourably.

I get that they become bothered, but the only option they have is the same we have, just ignore that people and go out with people with similar values.
