The funny thing is that they used to tell us that “if we wanted more women or representative characters on the stories, we should write our own”. And then, when we started writing fanfics and original stories, they complained about SJW en scifi and fantasy. Aparently, we should also write our stories for them and felt they have to create a campaing to “make things right” and influence the Hugo awards.

I think that the real problem is that they wanted us to fantasize about being the hero’s girldfriend, not the hero so their fantasy of being the hero includes us as (submisive) girlfriends that look at them with admiration for their “great geek knowledge”. By doing our thing we ruin that fantasy.

Anyway, scifi and fantasy are richer by the addition of diversity. If they don’t want to see it, is their loss.
