The problem here is that there are different people speaking. For example, there are some men that claim that women want older, richer men, then when a young women reject the older richer men, they claim that women doesn't know what they want. If they accept him, it reinforces their idea, so they focus on the ones who say yes and ignore the ones who are rejecting that man.

My point is, some women like confident men, other preffer shy, humble, honest men that make them feel comfortable being imperfect too.

But you don't need that everyone likes you. You can instead focus on finding the women that would appreaciate your good traits and are ok with your weaknesses. In the same way, you need to look for women with qualities you like but whose failures you can tolerate.

I know, it is very difficult. But one of the first steps to achieve that is to ignore what other people around you tell you, because the only opinions that matters about preferences here are the woman's you want to like you and yours.

Tell you what, I've read that you like photography. So if you insist on using tinder, try this: take a picture you are proud of. You don't even need to be in the picture. Then write a question on it. For example: "do you enjoy listening to musiciand improvising?" (or something related to that instant that you captured). That might catch the attention of someone who "understands". Sometimes finding connection with others is about leaving "clues" that they can "catch".

And since you are creative, I'm sure that you can make "one better" and think your own clever ways to show yourself with the very limited tools that tinder allows.

PD: No one should lower their standards, so don't assume that they are lowering their standards by dating you. They are trying to know you to see if you are compatible (like pieces of a puzzle that fit or don't) and you might very well be an improvement over their usual standard.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
