Then they are at fault for escalating a situation stupidly. While sometimes you can be very right to be mad, if there is no physical contact, there are other answers. But here I’m going to say something politically incorrect. There are times people are right to be mad. If someone has lost your house due to gambling, you can be rightfully mad. Here slapping is not the answer, but you do have the right to be mad. And you should react accordingly.
Sometimes they have crossed a non-physical boundary and you are rightfully mad for that. And while I don’t recommend slapping them for that, reacting and having consequences is right.
My point is that many times women are expected to just “be nice” even in the face of mistreatment. And we are told that we have no right to be angry or mad. Many times slapping or hitting won’t be the right consequence or answer. But there should be one appropriate to the offense (like breaking up/divorce, for example).
