There are a few househusbands out there. Some because they chose to, others because circunstances. So yes, it is. It basically requires the same than to be a housewife, to have a partner with a good enough income to sustain the whole family and that is willing to take on the role. And some househusbands have husbands, not wifes. Same that some housewives have a wife.

At the end of the day, people end doing what they think is best for them given their circunstances.
