This claim doesn't make sense at all. Plenty of men and boys have dreams that have nothing to do with being "emboldened". And are happy. The ones who aren't happy and frustrated are the ones who thing they are entitled to things without putting the effort to achive them. Those who thing they deserve something but won't have it, are the ones who becomes depressed. And in that, the economy is way more relevant than gender roles.
