This is peculiar. What I see working in IT as HR business partner is that while men hold this idea, in practice is not true. For example, it is considered that women work less because pregnancy and children. The idea is also applied to single women without children that do more overtime than their male coworkers. Example:

You only need to use google to find plenty of examples of sexism in all areas. Women need to navigate all those situations yet, it is considered "unfair" or "impolite" to point out this.
