Tinder is not representative of population, is a self selected sample. Also, there is an algorythm that decides who show up for you and who doesn't.
Think about it, if a woman 20 year older than you, that look 20 years older and is not fit, neither takes care of how she looks swiped right on you even if she is out of your search parameters at an app that is known to be created for hock ups, would you swipe right? Probably not. But this is what many women get as potential matches. Older men who are outside the parameters they search that swiped right on them. But potential matches is the first that shows up for them. So before she starts looking, she is presented with those men and swipes left on the ones who were never what she was looking for.
Also, tinder algorythm insist on showing profiles based on the idea that the men should make more money and be better educated and older. So that reduces even more the profiles women are shown. All this to say that Tinder algorythm doesn't reflect women's preferences. It is mean for the company to make money, so they want women (who are only a third of users) to stay longer on the app by showing them less choices that they could like. That way, they can show her profile to the older men.
Using Tinder data is naive. But if you are interested, look at the logic of the algorythm. Some people have already analyzed and it is telling.
