Traditional men (and some traditional women) believed that going to get a degree allowed women the chance to met a men with a degree (good provider), so they sent their daughter with the idea that they would find a man, not learn something useful. Then, they became surprised when many women prefered to use the degree than marry one of their fellow students. XD
