True. Some people take rejection badly and might become aggresive. Or even become angry when you don't answer right away (even if you are at work or doing something).

But from a practical standpoint, if someone ghost you, the best thing you can do is translate it as a rejection = If they ghost me, they don't like me. And then move on. The reason for them not liking you is irrelevant because the end result is the same. The less time you waste thinking about it, the more time for doing other things or meeting other people. And if someone says that they want a date and cancel more than twice, is also a no. Or if they say they want but never set an hour an place, they don't want to (or can't, but the result is also the same).

Bottom line is that they have done you a favor, because you could have ended dating someone that won't care that much about you.
