Wait a moment, as a nerd what brought me to metal were groups like blind guardian or rhapsody, nightwish or even aphocaliptica. I kind of assumed that many metal groups were about nerd things. I mean, manowar has a Conan vive. And the song with the intro of the grand father? Total nerd. How can someone claim that being nerd and metal fan is not connected?

For me it was kind of a given that metal was "nerd-friendly". To the point that I was nodding to Eddie in strangers things because I saw myself in him (except for the gender). It didn't occur to me that other metal fans would judge me for my fandom because, dude, you are singing a lord of the rings song and buying records with dragons swords and sorcery. Doro and warlock? What did they think it was if not D&D? O_o

Oh, well, I guess every place is different.
