We tend to forget that internet not only is public (it might seem as a private conversation) but also that unlike real world, people there only has to visit the webs they want/like. So some articles, people won't visit or even know that exist.
I think internet is good in the sense that it allow to speak and said things "uninterrupted". You write your piece and publish, unlike talking, where someone can cut you and talk over you. So for minorities or people that are usually talked over is useful. And if it is a common situation, it would resonate with many people. In that sense, it helps.
But insults or attacks are also amplified. So it would take some time to learn how to behave in the internet. In some ways it reminds me of "the light of other days". XD
