Well, most people are influenced by others and aren't logical. Our actions many times are decided by context. And in this situation "slut shaming" have a lot to do. Centuries teaching that women should remain virging until marriage, be demure and act "hard to get", make men react this way.

As for other women, the jealousy part is not as common as it used to be. After all, most women know that they can get the same attention if they do the same. But ot won't be considered the "right type of attention". Blame centuries of adoctrination if you want or look at any period TV-show. The other women don't want the hot sex with a hot servant, they want the marriage with the lord. The sex would discard you from the marriage, so no jealousy. XD

And then you would have the friends that might cheer on you. It is traditional vs progresive values. Nothing new.
