When you claim that identity politics “moralize identity categories” you are making a strawman because identity politics don’t do that. It is a miss-representation of what they actually say.

You followed that by making a comparison with nazis.

Because according to you, not wanting to be killed, raped, beaten, or treated badly for not being a white heterosexual man is like committing genocide. And it is bad that people don’t want to be discriminated against.

Well, if you want to argue that identity politics are bad, you might want to explain why according to you, complaining about the discrimination they suffer (which includes murder, rape, and being beaten) is bad. But I’m guessing that the reason is that it makes you uncomfortable to speak on those terms. That is “bad” because now you have to make an effort to not hurt others and things were easier when you could do whatever you wanted without having to care about hurting others. Knowing that as long as the hurt person wasn’t a white heterosexual man, society expected to be quiet and say nothing in order for you to keep feeling great with yourself.

You are free to keep doing whatever you do, but people are free to answer back. And you can consider them “oversensitive”, but they are free to just don’t put up with you. And if that means that some women “swipe left”, well, they are allowed to have preferences. And if other people think that you are acting wrong and those actions have consequences, well, that is life for everyone else too.

In fact, your post is identity politics. Specifically, one for rightwing white heterosexual cis men. Just because you don’t call it that, doesn’t mean it isn’t. Just accept other groups have the same rights you have to express their concerns and experiences. Don’t worry, no one is committing genocide against you.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
