Wrong. She was waiting for the right man, Larry wasn't. and he has decided that "Patrick" is the wrong man. But is he? If he is a man she just meet, we don't know. What we know is that Sara likes him while she didn't like Larry. And maybe the one who is shallow is Larry, that judges the new "Patrick" on his cover. He assumes there is no future for them, that he is wrong. Based on what information? That he is not Larry? Well, that is as asuperficial as you can get.

So to the "Larrys". Yes it is your fault if you don't listen. If she tells you "I'm waiting for the right man" as a form of rejection (which you would know because she won't date you) that means"not you". You are not the right man for her and if that is the only thing you want from her, move on. You might be the right man for other woman and from other man's perspective you would be "Patrick" (XD). You would know because her eyes would go bright when she sees you, she would text you all the time, she would want to meet and get closer, touch you and, basically do all the things that get you to date her.

The scam is to tell someone that just by liking a woman and being nice, you qualify to date her, without regard of her actual preferences. No, to date someone, that someone has to like you back as more than a friend. And while it sound simple, you'll need chemistry and complicity for that, which is not that simple. But the first step is to accept that it might not be reciprocal and move on when it is not.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
