Yes, forcing a woman to carry a pregnancy is rewarding the rapist. Because it allows them to have control over women. It gives rapist and abusers a way to punish women even further. They rape and get them pregnant. That means an unwanted pregnancy, which might cause multiple health problems, medical bills, being fired, and on top of that, the rapist can ask for custody.

And no, saying that you are against rape and that rape should be punished won't change that. Because it magically won't make the pregnancy disappear. Or the woman won't get fired. Not is considered reason to deny custody to the rapist. And if the woman die giving birth, it won't bring her back to live.

Also, in practice, most rapist get away with rape, because people won't believe women. Presumption of innocence is taken to absurd levels when rape is involved. To the point that witness might be dismissed if they were taken in ways deemed "unfair" to the men while the same methods would be valid for other crimes. Or you have cases like Brice Turner, where the man was considered "such a promising young men" and got away with only 6 months.

Yet, you want women being raped to have a life sentence for being raped, since pregnancy and birth might leave you sequels for life. But we shouldn't "conflate that with evil men". Right.

Sorry, but with things as they are now, the law is just cruel. And people supporting it are cruel. Regardless of your intentions, the results are terrible for women. And stories like this show why.

Fiction is the art to tell lies to show truths. Politics is the art to use truths to tell lies.
