You are right. The unspoken part is that they want to make the world better for their sons at the cost of making it worse for their daughters.

They would claim that their daughters would be "provided for", but as we know, many girls and women would rather choose their own lives.

But the real problem is inequality between rich and poor, which is unlikely to be addressed by the right.
