You come from at least one false premise: "female preferences for wealthy/powerful men that are still widely held by most ardent heterosexual women".
In the past it used to be fathers the ones with this preference. Fathers decided who their daughters married. Marrying someone you love is relatively recent and while some traditional families rise the girls into looking for richer men, others don't. And there are plenty of women who marry men and find men attractive for multiple reasons. Like being talented in music, intelligent, sharing interest, etc. That is already happening in places where women are allowed education and jobs to support themselves. The more (real) freedom, the more we would see different choices. I mean, most couples have similar economic level and background. And there are plenty of examples of rich women with younger hot men. So those women who can choose, are not choosing "more powerful", but young and hot (example: Madona).
I mean, I do agree that capitalism doesn't favour equality. But I disagree that we would get equality just by going left. After all, communist did nothing to change housework dynamics. Not even reduced domestic violence.
But feminist does favour a less capitalist society. After all, feminist supports free healthcare and education.
